Dominiq Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Dominiq ("we," "us," "our") is a web application for brand, domain, trademark and handle research. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you can delete it.

2. Accounts

Most research tools (Brand Check, Trademark, Aftermarket, Watchlist, etc.) require a free account. We collect:

  • Email address (used as your login and for password reset)
  • An encrypted password hash (we never see your plaintext password)
  • Account creation and last sign-in timestamps

You can browse the public marketing pages (home, about, legal pages) without an account. Search and watchlist features require sign-in.

3. Information We Collect

A. Account data

  • Email, password hash, account timestamps (see section 2)

B. Research data tied to your account

  • Brand names, domains, trademarks and handles you search
  • Watchlist entries you save (domains, brands, statuses, last-checked times)
  • Search timestamps

C. Third-party public data (queried live, not stored as profiles)

  • Public domain registration data via RDAP and DNS
  • Aftermarket listing pages (Dan, Afternic, Sedo, GoDaddy, etc.)
  • Public trademark databases (USPTO, EUIPO, WIPO, UK IPO, etc.)
  • Public social media endpoints (GitHub, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit)
  • App store listings (iTunes Search, Google Play)

D. Technical data

  • Basic server logs (IP, user agent, request path, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention
  • Crash and error traces, anonymized where possible

4. What We Do Not Collect

  • Payment or financial information (Dominiq is currently free)
  • Location or GPS coordinates
  • Biometric or health data
  • Browsing activity outside Dominiq
  • Contacts, photos, or device sensors

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Account and research data are stored on our backend (Lovable Cloud / Supabase) with row-level security so users can only access their own rows
  • Encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
  • Passwords are hashed; we cannot read them
  • No system is 100% secure — report concerns to security@dominiq.app

6. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

A. Public data sources (no personal data shared)

  • RDAP registries, trademark offices, social platforms, app stores — only the query string (e.g. the brand or domain you searched) is sent

B. AI services

  • Trademark risk analysis, name generation and brand scoring use the Lovable AI Gateway
  • The brand name or query is sent to the AI provider; your email and account ID are not
  • Providers may log requests per their own policies

C. Infrastructure

  • Lovable Cloud / Supabase (database, auth, hosting)

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data
  • Share your account or watchlist with advertisers or third parties
  • Track you across other sites

7. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Account, watchlist and search history are kept while your account is active
  • You can delete everything yourself at any time — see the Data Deletion Policy
  • Server logs are rotated automatically (typically within 90 days)
  • Database backups may retain deleted rows for up to 30 days before being overwritten

8. Your Privacy Rights

A. Access

Email privacy@dominiq.app from the address on your account with subject "Data Access Request" and we'll send you a copy of what we hold within 30 days.

B. Deletion

Sign in and use Settings → Delete my data, or email privacy@dominiq.app. See the Data Deletion Policy for the full procedure.

C. Correction

Update your email or password from the auth screens, or email us.

D. Children

Dominiq is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

E. California (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what data we hold about your account
  • Delete it (in-app via Settings, or by email request)
  • Opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither)
  • Be free from retaliation for exercising these rights

Email privacy@dominiq.app with "CCPA Request" in the subject. If you do not have an account, we likely hold no personal data about you beyond short-lived server logs, which rotate automatically.

F. Europe / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port your data and to withdraw consent. Email "GDPR Request" to the same address.

9. Cookies

  • We use a small set of first-party cookies / local storage entries strictly to keep you signed in and to remember that you acknowledged the research-only disclaimer
  • No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies

10. Third-Party Links

Dominiq links out to registrars, trademark offices, aftermarket marketplaces and social platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices — review their policies separately.

11. Policy Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be surfaced in-app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.

13. Summary

Dominiq stores your email, an encrypted password, and the watchlists and searches you create while signed in. You can delete all of it yourself from Settings, or by emailing us. We don't sell your data and we don't track you off the site.
