Dominiq Data Sources
Last updated: June 9, 2026
Dominiq aggregates data from multiple public APIs, registries, and services. Below is a comprehensive list of every data source, API, and method used across the app.
Domain Availability
Web2 Domain Availability
Checked via DNS lookups and public WHOIS/RDAP queries to authoritative registry servers. Results indicate whether a domain is currently registered. TLDs checked include .com, .net, .org, .io, .co, .ai, .app, .dev, .me, and .xyz. Data may not be real-time — always verify directly with a registrar before purchasing.
Web3 Domain Availability
Checked via platform-specific APIs and public blockchain queries. Platforms include Unstoppable Domains, ENS (Ethereum Name Service), Freename.io, and SpaceID. Availability reflects on-chain registration status which may lag behind recent transactions.
Handshake (HNS) Domains
Availability and pricing retrieved from Handshake registry data and supported registrars (Namecheap, Porkbun, Namebase). Handshake is a decentralized naming protocol — data reflects publicly available registry state.
WHOIS Lookup
WHOIS / RDAP Data
WHOIS lookups are performed using the RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol), the ICANN-endorsed successor to traditional WHOIS. Queries are made directly to authoritative RDAP servers maintained by each TLD registry (e.g., verisign-grs.com for .com, nic.io for .io). No third-party WHOIS API service is used. Data includes registrar name, creation date, expiry date, name servers, DNSSEC status, and domain status codes. Some fields may be redacted by the registrar under ICANN privacy regulations (GDPR/WHOIS privacy).
Domain Valuations & AI Content
Domain Appraisals
AI-generated estimates produced by large language model (LLM) services. Valuations consider domain length, keyword relevance, TLD value, brandability, memorability, and estimated market demand. These are algorithmic estimates only — not professional appraisals. Methodology: the LLM analyzes the domain against publicly known sales data patterns and general domain market heuristics.
AI Domain Name Generator
Domain name suggestions generated by LLM services based on user-provided descriptions. Names are generated algorithmically and may not be available for registration. Always verify availability before acting on suggestions.
AI Trademark Risk Analysis
Trademark risk assessments are generated by LLM services analyzing the brand name against known trademark patterns, phonetic similarities, and industry conflict risks. This is informational only and does not constitute professional advice. Always consult a qualified trademark attorney.
Social Media Handle Checks
Handle Availability
Checked via public profile endpoints and APIs for each platform:
- GitHub — GitHub REST API (public profile lookup)
- X (Twitter) — Public profile page availability
- Instagram — Public profile page availability
- TikTok — Public profile page availability
- YouTube — YouTube channel search
- Reddit — Reddit user profile lookup
Results indicate whether a public profile exists at the given username. "Likely Available" means no public profile was found; the username may still be reserved, banned, or restricted by the platform. Always confirm directly on each platform.
Trademark Search
Trademark Databases
Search links and references are provided to the following official trademark offices:
- USPTO — United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO TESS)
- EUIPO — European Union Intellectual Property Office
- UK IPO — United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office
- WIPO — World Intellectual Property Organization (Global Brand Database)
- TMview — Multi-territory European trademark search
Dominiq generates direct search links to these official databases. Trademark data comes from the offices themselves — Dominiq does not maintain its own trademark database.
Domain Aftermarket
Aftermarket Platforms (Web2)
Listing signals are detected via automated checks of publicly accessible search pages on the following platforms:
- Sedo — sedo.com
- Afternic (GoDaddy) — afternic.com
- Dan.com — dan.com
- Flippa — flippa.com
- Squadhelp (Atom) — squadhelp.com
- ExpiredDomains.net — expireddomains.net
- GoDaddy Auctions — auctions.godaddy.com
- Namecheap Marketplace — namecheap.com
- Dynadot Marketplace — dynadot.com
- DropCatch — dropcatch.com
- BrandBucket — brandbucket.com
- Saw.com — saw.com
Signals are based on publicly available page content and may be incomplete or delayed. Always verify listing status, pricing, and terms directly on the platform before making any purchase.
Aftermarket Platforms (Web3)
For Web3 domains (.eth, .crypto, etc.), secondary market checks include:
- OpenSea — opensea.io
- Rarible — rarible.com
- LooksRare — looksrare.org
- Blur — blur.io
Web3 aftermarket data reflects NFT marketplace listings and may not include all secondary sales channels.
App Store Availability
App Store Checks (Brand Check)
Brand name availability on app stores is checked via:
- Apple App Store — iTunes Search API
- Google Play Store — Public search page
Results indicate whether apps with similar names currently exist. App store availability may be outdated — apps are frequently renamed, removed, or relaunched.
Web3 TLD Information
TLD Registry Data & Pricing
Web3 TLD information (extensions, platforms, pricing, blockchain details) is curated from official platform documentation and public registry data. Pricing reflects publicly listed rates at time of last update and may change without notice. Platforms include Unstoppable Domains, ENS, Freename.io, SpaceID, and Handshake registrars (Namecheap, Porkbun, Namebase).
